Music Fans Pledge Their Rock of Allegiance at The Fourth Annual All Day Festival at Camden’s Waterfront

It’s been another great year for many of the annual music festivals that have spanned virtually across America, many have become a staple in a tradition to just a normal event. While we live in a music world with endless choices, festivals that combine all the great genres’ into one event make it a unique experience that sometimes burns in the back of your mind as one of the greatest live experiences ever.

Closing out the Rock and Roll music calendar of 2018, The Annual Monster Energy Drink Rock Allegiance was yet another unique experience with an array spanning a wide range of music genres’. While we enjoy some of the more popular musical genres’, you have to sometimes take a left turn and really give some new bands a chance to shine and prove that their sets were nothing short of greatness.

With a disappointment of Avenged Sevenfold canceling their entire tour prior to the massive all-new headlining show at this past event, it certainly didn’t dampen anyone’s mood with a great set by The legendary lineup of Limp Bizket,

I don’t think we could have asked for a better day weather wise in early September of 2018, a bit overcast and in the seventies, made it a great day, certainly beats either getting soaked in the rain or baked in the sun for hours watching bands perform on three different stages.

This lineup was just as good as it gets, despite the fact that the roster of bands had a few well-known artists and a long list of new faces or faces that have never been discovered other than social media which now plays a large part of how we stream music and get to know music.

While I enjoyed a great set from Bullet For My Valentine who closed out the third Stage in Wiggins Park, early on I had a great chance to see Fever 333, Stone Broken, and Bad Flower among others.

Rounding out the second or side stage, music fans got their money’s worth with Blues rock sensation

BLACKTOP MOJO, and we can’t forget an overwhelming blood drenching set by GWAR and their show antics and iconic stage performance just wouldn’t be complete.

Between three stages of music, Rock Allegiance offered some great food, expensive but truly hunger satisfying to cater to a large hungry fan base with lines long and deep.

With over eighteen bands covering three stages worth of music, it was like an endless day of great music, while you certainly can’t be at one stage for more than 15 minutes each, you pull out the schedule and off and running you go just in time to catch bands like FOZZY, ASHES TO NEW, who remind me of a similar Linkin Park to Christian rockers SKILLET all under one roof.

It’s been a few years since PAPA ROACH graced the stage in and around the Philly area, I can’t remember the last time they headlined a show and sounded fantastic, still energetic as ever and obviously bring the hits we come to expect in a great rock solid show.

It would be great if this type of show continues to be a staple in my back yard; keeping my fingers crossed Philly gets the fifth annual Rock Allegiance in the summer ahead.

Another great full day at Rock Allegiance 2018, the best way to get your rock ix.
