Supported by: Shvpes & Palisades

I’ve been looking forward to reviewing “Sirens” again since I reviewed them last year under different circumstances. These Guys have been a big part of my life I can remember exactly where I was when I heard their first album and the single that made me fall in love with them. And tonight, was the first night of their 16 dated European tour Showcasing their new album “How it feels to be lost”

The night started very suddenly and quickly as the advertised door times had changed and so I was late arriving, I grabbed my camera and jumped into the photo-pit and shot as much as possible of the first band “Shvpes”. These guys are a Metal, Melodic Hardcore quintet band hailing from Birmingham in the U.K and they had the hardcore sound to them when they were playing the energy in the room was heavy! I only caught a couple of songs of which I never got the names of but the crowd was going for it jumping to the band’s intense energy. I listened to a few more before they ended their set with great applause from the crowd.

With a quick set change, the next support band came on.

Palisades are a 5 piece from NJ USA and formed in 2011 and these guys carried on the metal hardcore theme of the night and these guys are very intense on stage with playing a great variety of their tracks the only downside that I could tell is that they didn’t really say what they were. The crowd clapping all round with the band dripping from the movement onstage. The fifth track they played was a cover of An Iconic Linkin Park track “One Step Closer” which was so good to hear. They also played “Let down” and ended their set with their latest single “Ease the pain” This single a heavy and aggressive track about pain and anting to erasing it. This band sounds great live and they thanked both “shvpes” and “Sleeping with sirens” and of course the fans. With that, they faded out the last song and got a huge applause.

It was finally time for Sleeping with Sirens and before the show, they had from what I could see was a pre-show band huddle which was great to see. Then turning into a dark lightroom which then turned into an explosive light set with the fans going mental and the band hitting off their setlist with “Leave it all behind” the band putting their all into this show from start to the finish.

These guys are a 5 piece Post-hardcore, metal, rock band from Orlando FL U.S.A comprising of Kellin Quinn on vocals, Justin Hills Bassist, Jack Fowler Lead guitar, Nick Martin on rhythm guitar and Matty Best (touring drummer)

This band changed my life and how I see music and I can remember where I was to the exact spot where I heard their first single “If I’m James Dean, You’re Audrey Hepburn” and the talent that this band had and how it made me feel.

Tonight’s show was the first date of their European Tour of the bands Album “How It Feels to Be Lost” which was released June 19th this year. Tonight’s show in the words of Kellin would be the greatest show they put on, and they didn’t disappoint. The first 8 Songs comprised of songs like “leave it all behind”, “Tally” their self-titled single “how it feels to be lost” which personally is my favorite telling a story which is quite dark and full of emotion and “Trophy Father” the songs were full of high intense energy, strobe lighting and a performance I will never forget. This setlist was getting better and better and with that, they slowed down the set and went and stripped it back with kellin on vocals and their guitarist Nick Martin with an acoustic session with a few songs beginning with, “with ears to see and eyes to hear”. The crowd sang along, and it was nice to see this energetic band strip things back to basics. They then played “2 Chord” this was just very beautiful even if Kellin was dripping with sweat from the first part of their show, I love seeing a band who can strip back their tracks acoustically.

The rest of the band rejoined and was then ready for the second half starting with “blood lines” from their new album a very darkly lite set with mainly backlit red LED strip lights this is a great song about embracing what your born into and not letting it get you down. This half of their set was incredible and the continued energy. Their front line of fans 90% female as Kellin is a hit with the female fans!

I was not able to stay to the end of the set but caught the next three songs which the band smashed “Ghosts, Medicine, and Agree to Disagree”

This band has gone from strength to strength and this was my 1st time photographing them but 2nd time reviewing one of their shows. Their shows are ones not to be missed when they’re in your area as they put on such a great show.
