The eighties can still be long remembered as one of the greatest decades in the history of rock genres’, not just for the great song lyrics but for the arena rock anthems that have truly captivated generations of music fans of what was once known as glamour hair metal days.

While those days have come and gone, and we wished they would last forever, we find ourselves still listening to some great bands putting out new music from stellar bands music like Whitesnake.

Even if we still think of Whitesnake as just an eighties band that has never stepped out of that era that has released some epic CD’S throughout their career moving fast forward to the current offering entitled “Flesh and Blood “

Earlier this year right before the summer season of concerts that block up most of one’s free time for a nightlife full of Rock n Roll, I had the pleasure of catching Whitesnake in what could be one of the greatest performances in a small venue much like the Xcite Center inside Parx Casino.

We still think it’s 1987 all over again when Whitesnake was at their peak of rock greatness with selling out arenas and topping MTV and Music Charts, and decades later Whitesnake can still bring the epic hits and Vocalist David Coverdale is still in his prime as a showman.

There is no better way to see bands of this magnitude bring the hits, the live energy of dual guitars and an unmistakable voice with songs spread out in a ninety-minute set seasoned with three new tracks fresh out of the box from ” Flesh and Blood ”

Much of their set consisted of material from the self-titled 1987 multi-platinum hitmakers alongside “Love Ain’t No Stranger ” and ” Slide It In ” from 1983′ among Three new tracks from Flesh and Blood including

“Shut Up and Kiss Me” and “Trouble “.

Every song sounded great including the harmonies and backing vocals of Joel Hoekstra and Reb Beach. I always enjoyed a band that truly gives one hundred percent in their live show and this time around in a small place Whitesnake went full throttle from the minute of the intro right into the infamous roar from Coverdale ” Here’s a Song For Ya “

Opening with “Bad Boys “and then going nonstop right to the bitter end with “Still of The Night “

Though I miss many bands in that arena rock atmosphere with a large over the top tour production and a sound system so loud you can’t hear yourself think let alone hear the person next to you yelling, times have changed and well many bands just seem to think that no matter where you set up to play if you are a fan you will certain bit hard for a rock show and Whitesnake was nothing but stellar back in May of 2019 at The Xcite Center.
