It’s always fun and exciting discovering new music and artist’s, Bang Bang Romeo is one of those bands and here’s why…

Bang Bang Romeo is a 3-piece band from Doncaster and fronted by female vocal powerhouse Anastasia Walker, Ross Cameron on guitars and Richard Gartland on drums. When I first had a listen to these guys I couldn’t for the life of me attach them to a musical sound, as they have such a uniquely powerful sound.

These guys are currently on their Star Crossed Species UK Tour which has consisted of 14 dates and due to the demand they’ve added 3 extra dates.

Tonight they have two bands supporting them the first.

I had never heard of this guy before only that he was a guitarist from Newcastle, He came on stage with his guitar and a just kind of put himself out there as a support act he was genuine and his music very truthful and raw. He got a good response from the growing crowd coming into the venue. He reminds me of a young Ed Sheeran, where he started a guy just looking to play gigs and get his name out there.

The next group of guys up well I did laugh as they dressed up rather weirdly but were called; Late-night Honeymoon

I’d not heard them before and I do love finding new interesting bands, and these boys ticked the interesting box with their stage presence and crowd connection. Then their music well WOW it was a rocky, arctic monkey’s ish and to go with the great northern sound was great outfits I mentioned earlier, very interesting! There set of about 6 songs comprised of a great selection of their music.

Wow
I walked into the room they just started, and I was blown away by the crowd reaction first off. All singing along “What’s up” their second song of the evening, I missed their opening song “bag of bones”.

Their music is great and they are proper into the crowd getting involved Anastasia slowed things down and asked the crowd to get out their phones and use the touches, the lights went down and the phones came out and the room light with just mobile phone lights for their song “Runaway” this was great two see two contrasts of their music within two songs, from their punchy power songs to the slow romantic style of song that they can do. This was the band’s first-ever headlining tour which they said was going very well and the response was incredible.
With a small instrumental and a dress change Anastasia came back on, guitars and band joining together for the next songs, “Cemetery” and “Love Yourself” This is their latest single which they have done with example In-studio but live it’s done by the bassist, this track is amazing and a story about learning to love yourself and embracing who you are.

“Bang Bang Romeo is a propelling force for female-fronted bands in a male-dominated industry, and a strong and open voice for the LGBT community. Anastasia’s “once in 20 years voice” is unrivaled and the group’s larger-than-life performances are sending audiences wild up and down the country, leaving them with jaws dropped and often reduced to tears.”- Bang Bang Romeo website

The band’s setlist was nothing but intense and incredible the next song “You scared the life out of me” was described by the band as “sexy as fuck” this is a brilliant song big and heavily bass based. With those powerful strong vocals from Anastasia and parts by the bassist. This one rings through you!
The tracks kept coming and the intense guitars went all over the place both lead and bass the crowd absolutely loved this show from the reaction.
This band a started wrapping up there set with a final track a real slowed love song called “adore me” Which is about a past love and her first-ever song she wrote. This goes from a slow heartfelt song to something quite magical with it getting going and a bit upbeat.
The band ended instrumentally but they were tricking us all! Back on for another song “invitation” a corker with power and life.

Their debut album ” A Heartbreakers Guide To The Galaxy” Will be out November 1st

I didn’t know what to expect from these guys and I can truly say, that the show was powerful, intense and full of movement and happiness. I hope the photos that go along with this review help bring this to life. But If you don’t believe me then go see them for yourself, they are on the last leg of their 14 date UK tour which ends Nov 1st in Isle of Wight.
