Don Omar came to Prudential Center on March 10th for his Back To Reggaeton tour and completely sold out the arena. This was an absolutely fantastic performance and truly so fun to watch. There is just so much to say about the entire show, the effects, the visuals, the dancing, the atmosphere, everything was just so well done.

Check out Shrithik Karthik from the night.

The show began with the DJ who played his set to warm up the crowd and he did such a great job of doing so. Playing some Latin hits that the audience very much enjoyed, he did such a great job getting the crowd amped up for Don Omar’s performance. Suddenly the lights went dark, the music went mute and the visuals began. A frenzy of lasers, lights, music, and more, the show had begun. It was off with a BANG as fireworks and pyro shot out at the same time as the beat dropped and Don Omar emerged from the back of the stage. The crowd exploded with energy to see the star of the show. There truly was so much energy at the beginning which the crowd immensely appreciated. Instant energy came from Don Omar the second he came out. The dancer’s outfits were so intricate being covered in shiny studs and wearing black masks. Song after song was just filled with such great energy. To close out the final three songs in extravagant fashion fireworks exploded in the air as Don Omar bowed to the crowd.

What was really great about this show was the story. There were different acts with different outfits and different themes. The entire show felt very futuristic mainly with the visuals. When Don Omar changed his outfits which were all very different from one another visuals would play on the big screens. They were so artistic, techno, and unique. Glitches, fast cuts, and more would play on the screen with a VHS-like feel which I personally have never seen done in a show the way this was done. This theme was apparent throughout the entire show and in all the different acts. The backup dancers would also change their outfits but the best part was how no two dancers had on the exact same outfit which I thought was really cool.

I think what made this concert so special, especially at this venue, was just how much fun Don Omar had on stage. He truly loved the New Jersey crowd in fact he mentioned Jersey over 7 times throughout the concert. The venue was completely sold out, filled with mostly a latinx crowd but people from many countries like Peru, Mexico, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, and many more. He made sure to interact with the crowd in a way that felt like he was talking directly to us which felt so special. In fact, he reacted directly to many people in the crowd and I think he even smiled at me! The energy from this New Jersey crowd was truly something else. So many people sang along to all of his songs and everyone around me was so immersed into the concert. Being on the floor surrounded me with Don Omar’s biggest fans and you could definitely tell that they were locked in.

The 3rd and final act was by far the best part. It was so much fun as Don Omar played some of his biggest Reggaeton hits and it just felt like one big dance party. He did so well hyping up the crowd through the last part of the concert even blowing a kiss to the crowd. The ending was just so cool as confetti exploded into the air, fireworks flew into the air, and pyrotechnics shot out. The crowd cheered some of the loudest cheers I’ve ever heard and it was incredible. Don Omar bowed to the crowd and walked out but it wasn’t over yet. The crowd continued to cheer asking for more and eventually, he answered coming back out to perform a few more songs. He closed out the concert with Bandoleros, an absolute classic and such a fantastic song. He gave one of the best final speeches I have ever heard. It felt like he was speaking directly to each and every single one of us and his speech resonated with me so deeply.

This is a must-see show if you are a fan of Reggaeton and Latin music and make sure to catch Don Omar if he comes to a city near you. The tour just started so be on the lookout for any of his shows and don’t miss out on one of the best concerts of 2024!
