Kicking off the 25th Anniversary of Candyass Tour at Bottom Lounge in Chicago, Illinois, the tour featured not only the legendary band, Orgy, but Cold and new-on-the-scene, I Ya Toyah. The entire evening was a thrilling collision of industrial, alternative, and electronic sounds. Orgy’s pioneering fusion of electronic beats and hard rock provided a nostalgic trip down memory lane, while Cold’s intense energy added a contemporary edge to the lineup. However, the addition of I Ya Toyah brought a fresh perspective with her unique blend of industrial and darkwave, captivating audiences with her mesmerizing vocals and pulsating rhythms. And, in all honesty, she stole the entire night and, that is not just because industrial music legend, Walter Flakus, of Stabbing Westward joined the newcomer on stage for her explosive single, Panic Room.
Together, these three acts delivered an electrifying performance that spanned decades of music, leaving fans exhilarated and craving more. It was a celebration of the past, present, and future of industrial rock, reminding us why this genre continues to captivate audiences nationwide.
