It’s hard to think about how many bands have decided to retire for touring and or recording, granted like us they are human, get older, and just can’t all four cylinders much like the younger days of a rigorous touring machine nonstop from album to tour and back around again like a definitive circle with no end in sight.

The eighties have blessed with a core of genres that will last a lifetime no matter how old we get and our taste in bands take a left turn off the radar. The magic of music can lift our spirits and certainly capture our mood swings in an instant.

We have come to expect many of our beloved heroes shall often remain in a non-deafening silence for an eternity, yet we see the end of an era with many going out with not just a traditional lasting goodbye but a lasting musical envision that will last a lifetime.

As we look through Slayers musical career that generated countless fans arms wide since the early days of 1982, it’s become an endless road of victory laps globally for the Thrash veterans who have graced stage after stage small and certainly as far wide as the human eye can visually see, Slayer is letting the ear blistering soaring sounds of their live shows one momentous time.

Since the actual tour kicked off just about a year ago, the opportunity to see this great band one last time seemed to be a quest in checking off the ole’ bucket list or even add them to your ever-growing concert resume’ this one was a must-see before the lights go out on stage and the pyrotechnics fizzle out forever.

While Slayer has become no stranger to the Philadelphia music market, this last show in my back yard I made a point to sit through an entire show and soak in every last song that has made Slayer an iconic Thrash relic in the world of music.

On this last leg of the tour, Slayer certainly didn’t miss any beats with three amazing support bands Cannibal Corpse, Lamb of God, and hailing from Sweden none other than
Amon Amarth rounding out direct support of this caravan of pure hell-raising Metal.

I absolutely love early shows and quick set changes make the evening move quickly for the headliner to give the fans exactly what they have come to expect especially from the likes of Slayer.

You think oh I have seen Slayer before this will be nothing new to see; well it’s a definite guess again show, not only did they give me the wow factor, Slayer obviously didn’t leave out any song that is defined as their greatest achievement under their belts.

From a visual perspective, your eyes wander back and forth as I watched Slayer shred right through twenty songs changed album banners spanning a massive career and synchronized flames to drum beats on certain key songs made this a really special evening for any Slayer fanatic to remember just how good these guys really are in a live setting and the very last show ever in Camden New Jersey was nothing short of stellar.

If you are a diehard Slayer fan and didn’t make it out to see any dates on this last tour, well shame on you, you missed one of the greatest live shows this band has put together on their last tour EVER………
