Dan Locke: What is your bands’ vision?

Tamara Amedov: Our hope is to touch as many people as possible with our music and make something happen in them. Of course, our goal is to go on tour with a big band and play on the bigger festivals, but if a fan writes to you that he likes to get up every morning, because he knows that he’ll be listening to our music in the car driving to work, that’s a great feeling and a nice confirmation that we’re doing something right.

How did you learn to sing?

I sing since I can remember and grow up in a musical family. My dad and uncle came to Germany from Macedonia and earned their money with music. As a teenager, I spent four years in the Staatstheater Nürnberg. I sang in a youth choir and played in operas like ‘Hansel and Gretel’ and ‘The Rosenkavalier’. After that, I worked for two years in the Schauspielhaus Nürnberg.

Tell me about Macedonian and what live music is like?

Unfortunately, I did not grow up in Macedonia, but I think this country is just fantastic. There is a strong bond with this country, maybe I lived there in my previous life. 🙂
My father is from a rather poor village, but the people there are happier and happier than the rich. Once you visit this land, you will be overwhelmed by hospitality, warmth and good nature. I love Balkan music, it has an oriental heart and invites you to dance. The people in the village where my father comes from play music and dance in the middle of the road, in circles, up and down the mountains. These dances are called Horo.

On your orchestral arrangements, how do you create them?

First, I think about which stories I want to tell with my music, then the melody comes automatically to my head and I play it first on the piano. Later, for the demos, I play them on the keyboard as orchestra strings.

Who is the strongest woman in your life?

My mother.

What is “Enigma Luna”?

“Enigma Luna” – that’s my book. I wrote my own fantasy novel. It’s about a love story and about werewolves.

How did you meet your band members?

VISIONATICA
VISIONATICA

First, Manu and I got to know each other via an online blackboard for musicians. Then we also completed the rest of the band via the music board.

How do you descript your music?

I would say, emotional, epic, dramatic, dark, powerful with oriental seasoning and Balkan influences. 🙂

I was looking at your Facebook page. I see you are a veggie. What is your go-to food?

Oh no, I’m not a vegetarian. In the pictures apparently, no meat was there by chance. I eat pretty much everything and love exotic, extraordinary menus. I love dishes with seafood, Turkish, oriental, but also Chinese. 🙂

How do you stay healthy on tour?

I drink a lot of warm. So, coffee and tea. I also see that I eat enough fruit and vegetables. I always have eucalyptus sweets for my voice, they help me the best.

What are some of the best festival you have played in the past?

I liked the festival in Tennenbronn. The stage was nice and the people were pretty darn good. The best of all so far, of course, was the appearance with Delain in Cologne. This gig is unforgettable and incomparable with all previous performances.

What are your tour plans?

Right now we are checking different tour options and hope to tour a lot in the future. Personally, I wish for a tour with the bands Myrath and Epica! 🙂

How do you see your band in five years?

We are all very optimistic and look to the future full of verve and determination. I’m looking forward to writing the next album and I’m curious to see what VISIONATICA expects. Of course, you have to do something for yourself, but we will. Because only through hard work, you reap fruit!

Any solo projects in the wind?

No, no solo projects.😉

Anything in closing you like to share with your fans?

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks at this point. Thank you for your support, your loyalty, your touching news and your interest in VISIONATICA. You are the best!
