Tove Lo with ALMA a great double bill

Riviera Theatre, Chicago, IL, USA February 19, 2020

The show must go on… and it did when Tove Lo took the stage after suffering a fractured ankle on February 13 in Brooklyn, NY. The injured “Queen of the Sensual” took to the stage and performed her electrifying set sitting on her throne (a chair she used to ease the pain of standing on her ankle). Tove Lo has written songs for other artists, but she has a very impressive repertoire of her own.

Her music is great for the party or club scenes, but to see Tove Lo live is like watching a Queen hold court. Her moves were entrancing as she caressed herself and gyrated on her throne. The crowd was completely taken in by her performance as they bobbed up and down to the sounds of her sell outperformance. Like most artists in her genre, Tove Lo did not come on stage alone, singing to a backing track. She is accompanied by a band, which is something we are seeing less of these days but is very refreshing. Tove Lo live is just that – a complete live show!

I’ve seen Tove Lo perform in arenas and radio shows before, but a smaller, more intimate, theatre atmosphere, is really where she shines and her fans could not ask for anymore. We can’t wait to see her the next time when she will be free from injury and taking complete control of the stage.
