What is your upbringing?

Diva Satanica : I work as a psychiatric nurse since 10 years ago and I’m studying to get my PhD in Gender Studies.

How did you discover music?

My father used to work as a manager for small bands in my hometown when I was a little kid, so he took me to a lot of venues and that was my very first approach to music.

How did you start to write music?

Our guitarist and founder member in BLODHUNTER, Dani Arcos, asked me if I wanted to write some lyrics for one of his songs and that’s how “The Bloody Throne” was born!

Div- What bands were you in before Nervosa?

My very first band was BLOODHUNTER but I’ve been singing in other projects called OUTREACH and I’ve done collabs with other bands as Mägo de Oz, Holy Moses or Kamelot.

What was your first performance at like?

It was about 5 years ago at a small venue close to my hometown. All my friends were there, even my family came to support us. It was fun!

What was the title of your first original song? Did you record it?

Yes, “The Bloody Throne” for the very first BLOODHUNTER demo “The First Insurrection”.

How did you start the band?

NERVOSA
NERVOSA

Our guitar player Dani Arcos invited me to join BLOODHUNTER because he knew that I loved extreme metal music and I wanted to learn how to growl. Prika asked me if I wanted to do my audition to join NERVOSA and here, I am, lucky me!

What is your next album going to be like?

It’s gonna have a very interesting approach for sure! All of us came from very different music styles and that’s gonna be very enriching for the band’s sound.

How do you stay healthy while touring?

I try to sleep as much as I can, I try not to drink alcoholics and eat properly.

What are you’re feeling about streaming music?

It’s great to have the chance to listen to your favorite music anytime anywhere.

Digital vs. vinyl?

I love vinyl’s but digital music comes with me everywhere.

Since you are an all-female thrash metal band, and there are few female thrash metal bands out there. Do you feel that the Me-Too Movement has helped you get up front?

We just need to get rid of all these thoughts that say that “we can’t do this or that” and look around to see all that magnificent women working hard to become the next new generation that will represent new role models for all of us.

What are your feelings about the social uprising going on in the United States?

People need to stay together and talk about what’s happening to spread the word so we can do something about it all together. It’s a shame that we still need to protest against such a thing.

What song from the past is in your mind right now? And what is the meaning that song means to you?

“Kill The Silence”, is very appropriate for these uncertain times that we are living nowadays.

How do you feel the Covid-19 virus going to affect the music business in the future?

We need to find new ways to survive in this industry. Hopefully next year we can have a vaccine and we can return to normal life.

What have you been doing with your self-quarantine?

Diva Satanica
Diva Satanica

As Rihanna says “Work, work, work, work, work…”.

Have you discovered or rediscovered any new hobbies?

I don’t think so… I don’t have time for anything else, haha But I realized how important it is to take care of your loved ones.

Lots of people are doing nightly concerts over either YouTube, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Your band has been doing Facebook Live. How is that going?

Pretty good! It was our very first meeting with NERVOSA fans all together. It’s been very exciting!

Do you think it will be possible to make a living doing concerts this way?

Health issues are coming first this year. I don’t think we can have a vaccine this year but we’ll see…

First, it was an article in the New York Times, then Rolling Stones talked about it, and finally, LivCreepy.e Nation CEO said that concerts may not start again until the fall of 2021. Do you think this could happen?

Who knows…? These are very uncertain times and we need to be safe to start enjoying music again.

With Social Distance being the norm. Do you feel that it maybe the end of music fest for the next couple of years?

Same as previous questions.

What about Holographic concerts in our living room?

Creepy…

How do you see yourself in the next five years?

Being at least as happy and healthy as I am nowadays.

Anything you would like to say in closing?

Thank you very much for your time and interest, it’s very appreciated. Stay safe, take care and see you soon!
