Slayer’s final tour has been setting the world on fire since 2018 and beyond. But they’ve been doing this for nearly 4 decades! The kings, the greatest, the best Thrash Metal band of all time Slayer here tonight here at the TaxSlayer Center in Moline IL is about to experience a night this venue has never seen before.

Last time I was here was for the KISS Farewell Tour and now for the final Slayer show which will by far destroy the KISS show, I can’t wait to see the shows of all shows tonight nothing is better than seeing and hearing Slayer live and that’s one thing I’m going to miss after tonight. The crowd is psyched and ready for an in your face show.

The curtain is up covering the stage the crowd is loud as hell waiting then “Repentless” started and the curtain dropped to the ground. Instantly, Slayer, had the crowd possessed fans were in fucking going insane.

The night just continued with Kerry King blazing away on the guitar and stellar rhythm guitar of Gary Holt. Tom Araya vocally never sounded better. I can’t figure out how Tom can still sing like he does I’m pretty sure most would have no voice after a month of touring. Props to Tom Araya for still nailing it as he blasted through this killer set with a song such “War Ensemble,” “Hell Awaits,” Payback,” “Season of the Abyss,” “Mandatory Suicide,” “South of Heaven,” Reigning Blood, and “Chemical Warfare”. Slayer fans can’t complain with the song choices. Slayers Catalog is pretty large and they got tons of great tunes and I think they did a great job on their song choices for their setlist. The onstage pyro was amazing its perfect, it’s like a burning hell Slayer was playing on, the flames the fire it was tight along with arrows of fire and explosions which were melting the faces off of those sitting close enough. Ok just kidding about melting faces off, but the flames were definitely warm from where I was sitting at.

Slayer saved the best for last “Angel of Death” for their final song. Off Slayer’s 1986 album Reign in Blood which the lyrics and music were written by guitarist Jeff Hanneman. I loved that Slayer had used Hanneman backdrops during the song for the backdrop to remember their former bandmate. I feel that it was a class act way to go out, showing respect and love to a former passed on bandmate.

Tom Araya was phenomenal as usual, fucking killed it as the rest of the guys did. Kerry King destroyed on guitar, Gary Holt was tonight nothing but solid with his musicianship and has been stellar since taking over guitar duties from the late and great Jeff Hanneman, wishing Slayer still had Dave Lombardo on drums for the final tour but shit happens, Paul Bostaph definitely is a solid timekeeper who beat the shit out of the drums tonight.
Tom Araya with sincerity thanked every one of us, as he stood on stage taking it all in with the house lights on and enjoying all the screaming and yelling with a standing ovation that seemed like it would never end as Tom Araya continued to glare into the crowd he seemed genuinely happy and thankful they have the Slayer fans who together made the best fans and the best metal thrash band ever in the history.
