Some things just age fine with time like wine, antiques, old records, and legendary American singer, songwriter, guitarist Ted Nugent. Born in MI, Nugent launched his first band The Amboy Dukes in 1965 while attending high school in IL. His career has been long and quite successful releasing a catalog of albums, joining the successful but short-lived band Damn Yankees, and appearing on Reality TV and a variety of television shows. He stays true to his conservative, Republican political reviews as he grew up in a military family; his father was a career army sergeant and Nugent is a board member of the National Rifle Association. A true red-white-and blue follower, he believes in the Bible, the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and in truth, logic, and commonsense that has seemed to diminish these days when listening to the media or many government officials.

The beautiful Des Plaines theatre welcomed Ted Nugent along with Greg Smith on bass, and backing/sometimes leads vocals and Jason Hartless on drums. The theatre was sold-out and the majority of fans stood the entire night listening and singing to Ted Nugent jamming out to his classic rock songs as well as a few new songs from his latest album released this year, Detroit Muscle.

Nugent opened with a grand celebration on guitar of The Star-Spangled Banner. Following this, his band performed 14 songs.

Ted Nugent talked often to the sea of his fans during the concert. He told them as he nears 74 years of age he feels great and does not smoke, drink, or do drugs. He seemed to be having a blast performing with his cowboy hat on and smiling often during his show. As he sang during his encore, ‘There’s hope for tomorrow, Ooh, we’re workin’ on today. There is truth to this lyric –especially during these critical times the world is living in.
