Meka Nism Releases “The War Inside’ with An Aggressive New Approach to #ArtMetal

When you find something that is so good, you never want to let it go. You want to hold on to it forever. That is what Orlando’s own #artmetal band Meka Nism is to me. That special piece in my life I always want to stay near and dear to my heart. My humble beginnings as a journalist all started with this phenomenal band in the burbs of Palatine, Il. At Durtty Nellies back in 2015.

A lot can change in 3 years. Members of bands leave. Attitudes change and new music emerges because of that. Meka Nism has taken on the challenge of writing an album taking on today’s issues with politics, our own demons, depression, relationships etc. and make it into an album which makes a heavy impact on society.

Meka Nism flew all the way to Germany to record their new album dropping May 11th, 2018 “The War Inside.” This gave the band a whole new perceptive on how to see the world especially on the other side of the world… I remember keeping in contact with Bobby and Meka during this time and I know they were enjoying every part of Germany. With the dark culture and eerie history, it for sure gave Meka Nism the inspiration they wanted.

“The War Inside” goes beyond what “The Shift” did in 2015. The new album by Meka Nism brings Meka and her vocals to another level. It really surprised me especially on the song “Trailblazer.” Meka is genuinely a very good nature beautiful soul and she believes in the way of the Sharman. However, get this fierce woman on the microphone and you see a strong, independent person slaying away with deeply emotional lyrics. You hear it with every cry and every roar Meka puts out there through her vocals. “Trailblazer” makes one think Meka is playing dual parts. Open your ears and listen closely. You may think it is all Meka. However, she is backed up by new member and drummer Chris helping along the quest. A great tune with hard hitting beats. Plus, I know a music video will be dropping soon. So, this makes “Trailblazer” even more epic.

Now, a song I took an immediate liking to was “These Years of Silent Screams…” The words being expressed gives me chills and makes me think of some the dark days I have overcome within my life. I love how Jay’s keyboards make a stunning impact not only on this song but the entire album. His talent shines through a lot on this new #EP and he deserves a huge #Bravo….

Now the song that will #meltyourface and take you for the ride of a lifetime has to be the titled track from the album “The War Inside.” The video for this is astounding, hardcore and simply ravaging. Meka looks like a total beauty goth queen with her marvelous makeup and wicked outfit choices. Again, Meka is at “war” with herself within this song. Her singing is soft and beautiful. Yet, it can turn evil

Bobby the #espmaster reminds me of man at his wit’s end completing life through his guitar. He plays his guitar so vigorously it seems like he is about to break it. I love this guitar riff from #StellarKeller. It hits you hard and makes a bold statement about which way “The War Inside” will be going. The bass lines provided by Jarrett are smooth yet makes that subtle impact everybody wants from a metal musican. Something that hits you in the face, yet makes you want to keep listening despite you are hurt.

Overall, Meka Nism took all the right steps to make an album which will leave an overall impact on every person who listens. We all need music out there with an outlet for all us to rage!!!! Pick up #TheWarInside and get ready to fight those battles!!!!
