Italy’s Dayslived sign to Rockshots Records!
ROCKSHOTS RECORDS is thrilled to announce the signing of the Italian progressive metal band DAYSLIVED, joining forces to release the new album “FLECTAR”.
“FLECTAR” is the band’s sophomore album and it’s the most progressive and experimental studio work to date, as well as the most ambitious.
DAYSLIVED want to explore innovative sounds and themes in the rock/metal scene. Listening to “FLECTAR” you will experience a sonic journey through different and never-repetitive elements. Monik’s voice is the trademark of their new sound, a blend of metal, prog rock, symphonic and electronic music.

Daniel Locke: How did you start in music?

Monik Fennelles : I started at 21 years old taking singing lessons. After an experience in a gospel choir, I sang in various musical groups

What type of music did you listen to growing up?

At 12 years old I started listening to Guns’n Roses, metal and rock

What was the first and the last concert you saw?

At the age of 17 I attended my first Vasco Rossi concert, the last concert was that of the Subsonica

How did you get into the band?

I joined the band with an audition, I knew the Dayslived because I had seen them at one of their concerts, and when there was an opportunity to try them I accepted immediately

What types of bands were you in before Dayslived?

I sang for many years in a Gospel choir, then I sang in some cover bands

If you had to descript your band in a couple of sentences, what would it be?

Exceptional, a large group of friends

Your band is from Turin. What is the music scene like there?

For me, it is very active for all cover groups. For those who do unused tracks, it’s a bit more difficult

What is the best club in Turin and why?

One of the best places is Hiroshima Mon Amour, but in past years there were many more Clubs

Let me asked you about some bands from Turin Italy. In a couple of words, what do you feel about each?

Alnur -nice project

Carla Bruni – Good

Niagra – interesting

And about bands from Italy. Same question.

Lacuna Coil – one of my favorite bands and I’d like to sing with Cristina Scabbia

Cadaveria – I know little

Elis, I know little

Devil Doll I know little

Thumberstorm I know little

You LP came out April 19. What is the strongest song on it?

Certainly Touching the Clouds, which talks about a very significant story

Can you tell me what is the best Italian romantic comedy you have seen?

A film by Fabio Volo, Un Giorno in più

What is the difference between American Metal and Italian Metal?

Have you ever played in any Open Air concerts or like to?

I often sing in outdoor festivals, like in Piazza Castello in Turin

Do you see your touring going outside of Italy?

Surely, we are working on it. We recommend following us on our Facebook page

How does a band tour in Europe?

With Marco’s Camper (guitarist) … joke

How do you see your band in five years?

With new music, new influences, and great concerts

What are your feelings about the impact the internet on how we listen to and buy music?

The Internet has given the possibility to many groups to publish albums, but it has removed the beauty of going to buy an album when it is published. There are too much choice and less selection

Anything in closing?

You absolutely have to listen to Flectar, buy the album and follow us on our Facebook or Instagram page!
