Bret Michaels is an angel to Charitable Organizations

The Mountainfest, Mylan Park, Morgantown, WV, USA, July 27, 2018

Bret Michaels’ stepped onto the Mountainfest Stage the second time in 2 years to perform in front of a small but mighty crowd. A bit lighter than last year. But that is understandable since last year show was earlier to get to with it being at the Triple S Harley Davidson and this year was located at Mylan Park in Morgantown.

Mountainfest ran for three days with bookends being a country artist and the cream was rocker Bret Michaels.

I feel that Bret is doing it more for his fans than the money. Bret Michaels is a multiplatinum global superstar who has sold over 32 million records worldwide, is a reality TV superstar (“Rock of Love with Bret Michaels”, “Life As I Know It” and “Rock My RV with Bret Michaels”) with some of the highest rated reality shows in history. This included him starred in and winning Donald Trump’s NBC hit, “Celebrity Apprentice”. Coming into the show as the underdog, his tenacity and business sense helped him win the series, raising well over $300,000 for Diabetes research. And now Bret just come off a long summer tour with Poison and now he is doing his solo band thing. With some of the money going to different charitable organizations.

One of the reasons why he started to give to the charitable organizations could be he is has been lifelong Type 1 juvenile diabetic since the age of 6. Bret formed his

Life Rocks Foundation out of necessity and a desire to give back to children and communities. In addition, Bret’s Life Rocks Foundation also works with organizations benefiting veterans, St. Jude Children’s Hospital and many others with instant impact.

Each year Bret sends children to diabetes summer camp which focuses on learning how to manage diabetes while having fun and developing new friendships. He remains a focal point in helping to raise diabetes awareness. “Diabetes is the reason I fought so hard to win Celebrity Apprentice,” said Michaels referencing his victory on the highest rated season of the show’s existence. “Collaborating Life Rocks with Team Carly Rocks to send 15 children to camp is an awesome day.”

In addition, he works closely with the American Diabetes Association and JDRF ( Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) having served as keynote speaker at numerous gala events which helped to raise millions of dollars for the cause.

Since Bret was born in the small town of Butler, Pennsylvania on March 15, 1963. Not too far from Morgantown it was like coming home to him. With lots of his family members and friends being at the show.

His last album, Custom Built, topped the charts, reaching #1 on Billboard’s Hard Rock list. His new CD Bret Michaels: Jammin with Friends was released in June of this year and features a myriad of legendary artists, who just happen to be great friends of Bret’s. The album contributors is a who’s who list including Joe Perry (Aerosmith), Loretta Lynn, Jimmy Buffett, Ace Frehley (Kiss), Michael Anthony (Van Halen) and members of Lynyrd Skynyrd, to name a few.

His set list was the following:

Talk Dirty to Me

Look What the Cat Dragged In

Sweet Home Alabama

Something to Believe in

Your Mama Don’t Dance

Unskinny Bop

Every Rose Has Its Thorn

Drum Solo

Nothing but a Good Time
