An Explosive Intro into Chicago: New Dehli Indian-Folk Metal Band, ‘Bloodywood’ Provides Ultimate Shock and Awe

Finally making it to Chicago, New Dehli’s heaviest of metal bands, Bloodywood make their appearance and completely sells out the Beat Kitchen on October 3rd. The site (and sound) was beyond intense as the hard-wood floors shook and the walls were vibrating, in mere anticipation of this band’s performance. One person in the front says to me, “I have been waiting to see these guys live for sooooo long!” as her friends were all eagerly agreeing with her. The excitement was palpable and was one that just could not be ignored and, all of this, just minutes prior to the band taking the stage.

Once the time finally arrived for the band began to make their way onto the stage, the sold-out crowd’s cheers of glee were almost deafening. And, within seconds, they began their performance and it was relentless. Bloodywood were finally here.

They have arrived and, they were not going anywhere until each and every person had the experience that was intended: 100% pure metal, yet thought-provoking, energy.

Bloodywood started out in 2016, as a parody band, covering various metal bands and became a viral sensation. It was then when they began to write their own music, of which they kept within the same metal, metal-core genres. Their lyrics are incredibly thought-provoking, in which they call upon the masses to make the world a better place, generally. And, even though they clearly have their own style of music, based upon their heritage alone, their low-end metal influences cannot be denied. One person on social media described them as, “An Indian Slipknot,” which is a pretty accurate description, at least in this writer’s opinion. Below are more photos from their appearance:
