Billy Idol Unplugged

Billy Idol and Steve Stevens are on tour doing an acoustic duo tour, “Turned On, Tuned In and Unplugged.”
Here tonight at the historical building Rialto Theatre in Joliet IL. Billy and Steven will be joined together making the hits tonight unplugged. The crowd tonight is anxiously waiting for Billy Idol to hit the stage. The wide range of fans that are here tonight tells me Billy Idol’s music has touched the lives of so many generations.
Billy and Steven hit the stage like brothers in arms killing it right away with “Dancing with Myself” getting the crowd involved instantly. Nothing beats a show better than sing-alongs and choruses with the crowd, making the crowd part of the show is always special to the artists and the fans attending.
This evening was filled with many hits and cover songs played acoustically and Billy spoke to the audience as like a storyteller session which was a wonderful way to introduce many of the songs and its origins to those songs of how they became or what was going on around the time of those songs took place. Billy, for example, talked about the British punk movement that shaped his persona. Stripping down “Kiss Me Deadly,” a song by his 1970s band Generation X.
Billy finished the night off with “White Wedding” which had everyone on their feet singing and dancing and “Shakin all over”... Shakin all over is one of my favorites, but I think surprised the crowd because a quite a few people around where I was sitting seemed to not be familiar with the song. Also If you have a chance check out Iggy Pops version of “Shakin all over” as well it’s a great version.
When Billy Idol comes to a town near you or around you, definitely go check it out he won’t disappoint and always support the music scene around your area.
