Review by Dan Hansen

I think the summer blockbusters are starting to come out of the wood work. This is a fun and must see movie. This is The Incredibles meets Harry Potter with an 80′s feel.

Will Stronghold (Michael Angarano) starts his freshmen year at a school for Superheroes and happens to be the son of the most famous Superheroes – The Commander (Kurt Russell) and Jetstream (Kelly Preston). With the pressures from his parents to be a superhero and an addition to the family team, Will discovers he has no super powers and is shames by being thrown in with the Sidekicks or nerds. His best friend Layla (Danielle Panabaker) is also a sidekick then one day he powers erupt during a fight with his first enemy Warren Peace (Steven Strait). The rest of the plot is fairly predictable. Will not only gets The Commander’s super strength but also Jetstream’s ability to fly. He becomes very popular and gets the gorgeous girl, a.k.a. the villain Gwen (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), too. As his popularity grows, he is pulls further away from his true friends. It’s up to Will and the nerds to save the day and in the end, Layla and Will fly off into the sunset.

Wait there’s more! For you Wonder Woman fans, Linda Carter plays Principal Powers. Bruce Campbell plays the gym teacher Coach Boomer, the one who separates Superheroes and Sidekicks. Cloris Leachman is Nurse Spex, who tells will he has no powers and may or may not get them. The sidekicks teacher is Mr. Boy (Dave Foley) the once sidekick of The Commander.
